Games Developer (Front End)

Summary

As a member of the software development team, the game developer will be responsible for programming new interactive HTML 5 games.
The game developer will have to manage his/her own schedule with a view to creating high-quality, stable products and meeting established deadlines. The incumbent will also be in charge of maintaining, updating and fixing bugs in the products delivered by his/her team.
The successful candidate will also be called upon to improve the proprietary game engines as new needs arise to further increase product quality or to open new markets.

Key Responsibilities

• Writing and maintain previously written code and fix bugs on the current framework.

• Help extend the game framework.

• Designing new game features in terms of code structure.

• Managing the local resources in order to achieve the requests coming from the line manager in terms of both deadlines and quality.

• Follow correct version control policies and procedures.

• Write UNIT tests for new code and.

• Document frameworks using the standard documentation policy.

• Keep up to date with JIRA tickets assigned for front end jobs from the testing team.

• Liaising with the testing department on identifying/fixing bugs.

Required Experiance

• Experience gained with the Gambling/iGaming Sector

• Extensive experience working with:

  • Javascript/Typescript.

  • Phaser or PixiJS animation frameworks.

  • Spine and PNG sequences animations.

  • Greensock GSAP tween engine.

• Relevant degree in computer science, game development with front end development experience

• Experience of using git for development and deployment

• Time management skills, with the ability to work on tight deadlines

• Good communication skills and able to interface with development and operations teams

• Worked in an agile/Kanban environment and be comfortable rejecting low priority demands when pipeline if full of high priority tasks

• NodeJs and NPM

• Angular/React JS Framework

• Proven experience working in iGaming industry and developing slot/table games

• An interest in learning more about the online gambling industry

• Have good problem-solving and analytical skills to spot errors and diagnose problems
